Todd Zuhlke, MD, FACS

Dr. Zuhlke is a native of Madison, Wisconsin.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Science, summa cum laude, with a double major, receiving honors with distinction in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Prior to attending medical school, he served as a police officer with the City of Madison Police Department for seven years.

Dr. Zuhlke’s extensive medical training began at University of Wisconsin Medical School in Madison, followed by an internship at Rush University Medical Center and Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.  Dr. Zuhlke then completed two residencies, one in general surgery at Mayo Clinic in Arizona, and the other in plastic and reconstructive surgery at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.  This was followed by a fellowship in orthopedic surgery of the upper extremity and hand at The Hand Center of San Antonio/University of Texas Health Science Center, training under world famous orthopedic surgeon David P. Green, MD, and microsurgeon William C. Pederson, MD.

Dr. Zuhlke is double board certified.  He is certified in plastic and reconstructive surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) and also in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS), which are both among the 24 member boards  recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).

Dr. Zuhlke specializes in plastic and reconstructive surgery, including aesthetic surgery, microsurgery, and hand surgery.  He has received additional formal accredited training in diseases, disorders, and injuries of the upper extremity and hand.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and of the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery.  He has authored numerous scientific publications.

Dr. Zuhlke takes the most pride in being able to communicate effectively with patients, being a resource for education, and involving patients in the decision-making process, which he believes is integral to providing the highest level and quality of care.  He feels his greatest accomplishment is not only the compassionate care that he delivers, but the trust that he has received in return.

Dr. Zuhlke moved to Colorado in 2016 and enjoys fully being part of an active outdoor community.  He is joined by his wife, also a talented surgeon, two young sons (one a native of Colorado) and two rescued greyhounds.  In his free time, he enjoys art, spending time with friends and family, running, hiking, cooking, woodworking and traveling.


Abigail Schreiter, MMS, PA-C

Abigail Schreiter is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Ms. Schreiter grew up in Wisconsin and attended the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse where she was a collegiate track and field athlete.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Science with major in biomedical science and minors in chemistry and psychology.

Ms. Schreiter began her patient care experience following graduation from undergraduate studies, as a Certified Nursing Assistant.  She also worked as a Critical Care Technician, working with the anesthesia department in the pre-operative and post-operative settings.  She complete her Physician Assistant Masters of Science at Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee where she specialized in surgical care.

Ms. Schreiter was encouraged by friends to move to Colorado in 2023 and has been a welcomed addition to the practice.  She enjoys the Colorado outdoors, including hiking, bicycling, and running.  She enjoys friends and food.  She looks forward to soon adding a dog to her family.


Melody Espinoza Merritt

Patient Coordinator, Skin Care Consultant, Licensed Cosmetologist

Ms. Merritt brings over 20 years of experience in aesthetics and plastic surgery to the practice and has been an invaluable addition to the team.  Her passion is to help people look and feel their best.

Ms. Merritt is a licensed cosmetologist and licensed surgical assistant by the State of Colorado.  Her past experience includes working in ophthalmology, oculoplastic surgery, and dermatology, as well as, doing pharmaceutical sales.  She has a Bachelor of Science in management.

When Ms. Merritt is not in the office, you will find her walking her French Bulldog, Fergie, visiting her daughter in Texas, or at her son’s college baseball games.
